Environmental Law Diversity Program Summer Grant Application
The Environmental Diversity Program was created to provide support for scholarships and
summer grants for diverse students enrolled at the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of
Law who have demonstrated commitment to working in the field of environmental law. Law is one of
the least racially diverse professions, with the environmental law field measurably less diverse than the
legal profession generally. The University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law is committed to
diversity and seeks applicants that will be able to make unique contributions to the character of the Law
School’s educational and social environment and ultimately to the legal field after graduation. All
Environmental Diversity Scholars and Fellows will be expected to foster a culture of inclusion at the Law
School and in the legal community. This grant program is funded jointly by the Environmental Law
Program and the EIP Diversity Fund. https://www.law.umaryland.edu/Programs-and-
